We are truly in awe of the extraordinary Karen Boyer Wilder, who has been making special appearances in support of Remembering Gene Wilder. Recently, Karen joined Andrew Friedenberg and the Cinema Society for a memorable three-theater mini-tour — and left every audience deeply touched.
Andrew shared that Scottsdale welcomed 100 guests, Goodyear an incredible 300, and Peoria 150 — all greeted Karen with heartfelt applause and immense appreciation. At each screening, Karen spoke so eloquently and thoughtfully about her life with Gene, their beautiful partnership, and the causes they championed together. Her remarks captivated audiences, with post-film discussions lasting beyond 15 minutes, as people eagerly listened to her heartfelt reflections.
In Scottsdale, one attendee shared a touching story: Gene had once called her home in Milwaukee to speak with her father, who had been Gene's father's doctor.
In Peoria, another attendee shared that when she was just 8 years old, Gene used to call her sister — hoping to ask her out on a date!
Such beautiful reminders of how Gene’s spirit touched so many lives — and how Karen's presence continues to do the same.
Andrew Friedenberg summed it up perfectly, saying, "Karen was one of the nicest guests my organization has ever had the honor of hosting. Beth and I have a very special new friend."
We are endlessly grateful for Karen’s generosity, grace, and passion in keeping Gene’s memory alive, and for the way she brings his story — and theirs — to life with such love.
