The Gene Wilder Legacy is not a nonprofit. Instead, we channel supporters straight to the charities Gene and Karen believed in. Every dollar goes where you send it, no middleman, no overhead, no cut.

How it works

Direct-to-charity, always.

PAL-MEL Productions, Inc. is a for-profit company and cannot accept tax-deductible donations. What we can do, and what we’re doing here, is point supporters directly to the 501(c)(3) partners doing the work.

You give, they receive

Every donation link on this page goes directly to a partner charity’s own giving page. Your gift is between you and them, and you get their tax receipt.

We track the impact

Through partner agreements and campaign tracking, we can report on how much Gene’s legacy has directed to each cause, without ever touching the money ourselves.

No PAL-MEL cut

We don’t collect a percentage. Operational costs are covered separately through the Wilder Palette print series and strategic partnerships.

Research, awareness, and 24/7 caregiver support. Gene died of complications from Alzheimer’s; Karen cared for him through it. This is the fight closest to our heart.

When you purchase Gene’s books through our Amazon links, we earn a small commission on each sale, and 100% of that commission is contributed to our partner charities. The book price is the same as buying direct. Your support costs you nothing extra.

Corporate matching, double your impact.

Many U.S. employers will match employee charitable donations dollar-for-dollar (some 2x or 3x). If your company offers a matching-gift program, a $100 gift to the Alzheimer’s Association becomes $200 or more, at no extra cost to you.

Step 2

Ask your employer to match.

Search your company’s intranet for “matching gifts” or ask HR. Most large employers have a portal where you upload your donation receipt.

Step 3

Note the Gene Wilder Legacy.

If your matching-gift form asks for a campaign source, please write in “Gene Wilder Legacy” so we can help track the collective impact.

All four of our partner charities are established 501(c)(3) organizations and are recognized by every major matching-gift platform (Benevity, YourCause, Cybergrants, etc.). If your employer’s system asks for the charity’s EIN and can’t find it, contact us and we’ll help you locate it.

Transparency

Where every dollar goes.

Because you give directly to the partner charities, they issue your tax receipts and report on impact. Once a year, we publish a short letter summarizing how many supporters gave, which causes received the most, and what the money funded, based on data our partners share with us through formal agreements.

PAL-MEL Productions covers its own operations through the Wilder Palette print series, licensing revenue, and strategic partnerships. Never through donations.

Our commitments to you

  • No donation solicitations. We don’t ask for money on PAL-MEL’s behalf.
  • No cut of your gift. 100% of your donation goes to the charity.
  • Clear disclosure. When a print purchase includes a charitable portion, we say so.
  • Annual transparency letter. Published each January.
