Gene Wilder made his film debut in "Bonnie and Clyde" directed by Arthur Penn.  He had a small but memorable role as Eugene Grizzard, a young undertaker who has a few scenes with the notorious bank-robbing duo. Although his screen time was limited, Wilder's performance showcased his talent for portraying quirky and comedic characters.

Gene often shared how Arthur Penn didn't see Eugene as the character that Gene had created... one with humor and depth.

The film has become a classic and his scenes stand out to this day.  A very strong start to Gene Wilder's filmography.
