Created and Written by Gene Wilder... "Young Frankenstein" is a comedy film directed by Mel Brooks, in which Gene portrayed the role of Dr. Frederick Frankenstein, the grandson of the infamous Victor Frankenstein. Wilder's performance was a comedic tour de force, balancing humor, wit, and emotional depth, and is considered one of his most iconic roles.

This was Gene Wilder's baby and he was very proud of this film.  He would refer to it often as a "favorite" in interviews and conversation.

He never grew tired of talking about Young Frankenstein.

Karen Wilder: I knew we were in trouble when he could no longer remember the title of his favorite project "Young Frankenstein"... and just put out his hands and groaned to indicate the film he was trying to remember.
