Ain't It Kinda Wonderful
Gene Wilder and Harry Connick Jr
COMING SEPTEMBER 8th, 2025! In a heartfelt tribute to the enduring love of Gene and Karen Wilder, GeneWilderOfficial.com is proud to announce the exclusive release of a rediscovered musical gem: “Ain’t It Kinda Wonderful”, a previously unheard track featuring vocals by Gene Wilder and piano by Harry Connick Jr.
The duet will be released September 8, a date filled with special meaning—it marks the wedding anniversary of Gene and Karen Wilder.
This never-before-released version of “Ain’t It Kinda Wonderful” was originally composed by Gene for his 1977 film The World’s Greatest Lover and first recorded by Harry Nilsson. But few knew that years later, Gene privately revisited the song—this time at the piano of his longtime friend Harry Connick Jr.—recording a version that was never shared publicly.
That is, until now.
The track was discovered by Karen Wilder, tucked away on a memory stick gifted to her by Connick at Gene’s memorial. After hearing the magic of Gene’s tender delivery alongside Harry’s stirring accompaniment, Karen knew it was meant to be shared.
“It stopped me in my tracks,” Karen said. “It’s gentle and funny, emotional and hopeful. It’s Gene.”
The song will be released exclusively on GeneWilderOfficial.com as a limited-time download supporting the Gene Wilder Legacy Project, with a streaming release and a special tribute video to follow.
While Harry Connick Jr. will not be participating in active promotion due to prior commitments, he has given his blessing for the release and is credited as: Harry Connick, Jr. – Piano Gene Wilder – Vocals
💫 A Dream Come True, A Gift to the Fans “Ain’t It Kinda Wonderful” is more than a song—it’s a love letter, a celebration of creativity, and a musical bridge between past and present. It’s Gene Wilder at his most intimate and sincere.
